Solid value, minor issue

I bought Beamer for the Feedback Board and Analytics Dashboard. The features are robust and really help us track user engagement. The pricing for the annual plan was good value. My only small gripe was the initial support response time, it took about a day to get back to me on a setup question, but once they did, the answer was helpful. Overall, a good experience.

Comprehensive communication tool

I purchased Beamer for our SaaS to improve user onboarding and manage feature requests. The setup process was fairly guided, though I did spend some time customizing the appearance to match our brand. The Segmentation feature is particularly useful for targeting specific user groups with relevant updates. Delivery of the service itself was immediate, being a software platform. I tested the Push Notifications and they worked perfectly on both desktop and mobile. The API Access seems promising for deeper integration down the line. I'm especially keen on using the Feature Voting and Product Roadmap tools more extensively to involve our users in development. The interface is clean, making it easy for team members to publish updates without much training. It definitely feels like a powerful tool for customer communication.

Reliable updates every time

This is my third time using Beamer, mainly for their In-app Notifications and Feedback Loop. Just like before, everything worked smoothly. The integration with our existing tools was simple, and the notifications always go out without a hitch. It's consistent, which is why I keep coming back.

Good deal on annual plan

I was looking for a cost-effective way to handle our changelog and found Beamer. The 20% off annual billing was a great incentive. Setup was quick, and it was pretty easy to get our first changelog post live. It feels like I got a good deal for the features included. Happy with the overall value.

Is Beamer good for managing feature requests too, or is it mostly for announcing new stuff?

P Paula 1 month ago
It's pretty good for both actually. You can use their feedback boards for requests.

While it's super strong for announcements and changelogs, you can definitely use Beamer for feature requests too. They have tools for feedback boards and idea management, so users can submit and vote on features. It creates a nice feedback loop.

Anyone know if Beamer ever does a lifetime deal? Or was that like, a one-off thing from ages ago?

T Tom P. 1 month ago
They've done them before, usually through platforms like AppSumo. Keep an eye out around Black Friday or specific launch events.

Yeah, I grabbed one on AppSumo a while back. They don't do them constantly, but they pop up occasionally. Totally worth it if you can snag one!

I'm trying to decide between Beamer and Canny for our product roadmap. Anyone used both and have a preference?

T Troy V. 1 month ago
Beamer's changelog and notification features are really strong. Canny is good for pure feedback boards, but Beamer feels more complete for communicating updates.

Used both. Beamer is more about announcements and getting updates out, while Canny is more focused on idea management and voting. Depends on what your main need is. For product adoption, Beamer felt better.

What's the deal with their free trial? Is it fully featured or super limited?

E Emma G. 1 month ago
It's pretty decent, gives you a good feel for it. Not everything, but enough to see if it's a fit.

C Carly 1 month ago
The free trial is actually quite generous, you get access to most core features for a set period. Enough to really test out the changelog and some notifications to see if it works for your workflow.

What's their refund policy like? Just in case it doesn't work out.

T Tara K. 3 weeks ago
I think they have one, but you'd have to check the fine print. Usually for the first 30 days or something.

They do have a refund policy, but it's usually tied to specific conditions, like if you're within a certain timeframe after purchase. Best to double-check their terms on the website to be sure.

I saw some really good deals around Black Friday last year. Do they usually do a similar sale every year?

J Josh W. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, Black Friday/Cyber Monday is usually their biggest sale of the year. Definitely worth waiting for if you can.
2
B Brett H. 1 month ago
They consistently run sales during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period. If you're not in a rush, it's probably the best time to get a good discount on an annual plan or maybe even catch another lifetime deal if they offer one then.

Thinking of upgrading to an annual plan. Is there usually a promo code for that, or is the discount just built in?

P Phil M. 1 month ago
The discount for annual is usually just automatically applied on the billing page, no code needed.

B Beth Patel 1 month ago
From what I remember, the 20% off for annual billing is just part of the standard pricing structure. You just choose the annual option and it's cheaper than monthly.
